Users of the Linux operating system can use Photoshop.
Sydney - Google is sponsoring the Codeweaver developers to allow use of Photoshop on machines with the system of open source.
The Google software engineer, Dan Kegel, wrote last week in Wine blog that Google was sponsoring the Codeweaver developers to make sure that Photoshop CS and CS2 operate with the Wine. This software allows programs made for machines with Windows also run on Linux.
Kegel, who is also manager of release 1.0 of Wine, said that Google already uses the program to implement support for Linux in Picasa. According to him, Photoshop is one of the most desired applications by users of Linux.
Google's developers sponsored Codeweavers "for the aprimorarem support Photoshop because many people asked repeatedly why," he explained.
A page of Wine in Wikipedia gives tips on how to use the program to run applications on Linux. Examples of the image processing software, which work with Linux are the Gimp, the Gimpshop and Cinepaint.
